COMIC-CON!!!!!!!!! COMIC-CON!!!!!!!!! COMIC-CON!!!!!!!!! Yup Yup Yup! I had a super duper time there! I already shared my Friday adventures and that was now almost 2 months ago! Geez, I’ve been distracted and I never wrapped up sharing my Saturday Comic-Con going adventures!
So as I am fond of saying, better late than never!! Yup! Yup! Yup! (Be prepared to lots of photos! I love photos!)
My Comic-Con Saturday started off with some wandering of the aisles, I really tried for an up and down route to see it all, but then again I’m always distracted when something just catches my eye. Oooooh, SHINY!
It was a fun filled Saturday with so much to see! My guy Dave and I saw some cool stuff and hit up some panels! Then we wandered out an about for a while too!
Next up here’s some cool cosplayers we ran into while wandering around! So many cool people and costumes!
And when we came around another aisle who did we spot? Well Danny Trejo of course! He was by the My Little Pony chair and was taking photos with lots of people! He is so awesome! Yup!
We tried for some panels, the Wonder Woman panel was full so we caught a little bit of one about the latest SCOOBY DOO animated movie crossing over with the WWE universe! And then after that some Max Landis talking about Dirk Gently.
I do have a little panel recap to share, one of my most favorite things at Comic-Con but there’s still more photos to pass along! All the things I wish I could have brought home with me! I do love those SUPERHEROES!
It’s always fun to come across a booth sporting memorabilia from my favorite shows and movies! Yup!
There was a lot to do and see on Saturday but I couldn’t stay the whole night and there was some cool stuff I know I’d be missing, but in the end it was ok! I ended up finding one of those panels online, thanks to some cool partnerships Comic-Con is doing nowadays! WOOT!
But I digress…My guy Dave and I did sit in on a panel about VALIANT COMICS and learned what they are up to with a few of their creators and writers; Jody Hauser, Robert Venditti, Joshua Dysart, Darick Robertson, Warren Simmons and Dinesh Shamdasani. It was a cool panel indeed and it made me want to flash back to some old Valiant Issues and get caught up on their new stuff. I really need to get into Jody Hauser’s run on FAITH! As always I have a lot more comic book reading to do! Yup!
After the VALIANT panel it was time for the HONG KONG CAVALIER reunion! The room filled up to max capacity and I was seated in front of New Jersey!
The panel was for some of the gang from THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION! The Band was back together after 30 years, since this awesome movie came out! Oh and a new DVD is out from the ever awesome SHOUT! FACTORY. Yup. This whole panel was an absolute pleasure! BUCKAROO BANZAI is one of my all time favorite movies!
Moderated by Joe Parington he introduced Gerald Peterson (a.k.a. Rug Sucker and bandmate of Billy Vera), Damon Hines (a.k.a. Scooter Lindley), Billy Vera (a.k.a. Pinkie Carruthers) and last but certainly not least Pepe Serna (a.k.a. Reno).
The gang all shared stories of working on the movie and the fun time that was had. They talked about working with Peter Weller and making sense of the unusual script. The film has stood the test of time as they all say fans still ask them about their roles in Buckaroo! Billy gets a lot of gifts in pink boxes!
Kevin Smith wants to make a TV show based on BUCKAROO and word is he wants the original cast joining in. Pepe told us all to make it known we want the original cast back too!
Can you imagine a world where there would have been 5 sequels to BUCKAROO BANZAI? Billy said they were signed for 5 sequels when they got the movie. Everyone was really proud of the movie and it was great to see them all together, happy, riffing and excited about the time spent as Hong Kong Cavaliers.
“NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO, THERE YOU ARE!”
Soon after this my guy Dave and I made our way out of the convention center to say goodbye to Comic-Con until next year of course! 😉 (Hope Hope!!!!)
I of course found a few more fun things to photograph!
Once home after Comic-Con I get to sort through all my goodies!! It was a nice haul of comics, collectibles and free things!
Yup, that was my Comic-Con Saturday in a nutshell of pictures! And it’s finally on my blog for all to see! Time to get cracking on sharing more fun adventures! Keep the good times rolling! Yup Yup Yup!
