on-the-road-to-conComikazie, now known as Stan Lee’s Los Angeles Comic Con, was just last weekend. Yup, one week ago! Zooom!

I hadn’t been able to attend last year, but this year I had a free Sunday and my niece Celia was able to come along too with me and my dad! As a trio, we three eagerly made our way through traffic, to the Los Angeles Convention center! Yup! VROOM VROOM down the 110 freeway! (Yeah it was not VROOM VROOM, but slow slow!)

We got inside just about 11AM and began our big adventure to walk up and down all the aisles, browsing all there was to see and buying things that said “buy me!” The floor was pretty busy for a Sunday! Lots of people all happy and having fun! It was packed but never overwhelming to get through the crowd.

One of my favorite things about conventions is the cosplay! There’s lots of cosplay too at this convention! I loved it! I’m like “OOOH! LOOK AT THAT!” I am giddy seeing the detail people put into their outfits!! I do ask cosplayers if I may take their pictures first and remember it’s the polite thing to do! (Manners, people!)

One of the first and best cosplay we saw was a couple dressed as Hawkgirl and Hawkman! Their wings were fully retractable and flapped! It was amazing!

Celia was awesome and helped me dig through the boxes! We filled in some good comic book gaps!

COMIC-CON!!!!!!!!! COMIC-CON!!!!!!!!! COMIC-CON!!!!!!!!! Yup Yup Yup! I had a super duper time there! I already shared my Friday adventures and that was now almost 2 months ago! Geez, I’ve been distracted and I never wrapped up sharing my Saturday Comic-Con going adventures!

So as I am fond of saying, better late than never!!  Yup! Yup! Yup! (Be prepared to lots of photos! I love photos!)

My Comic-Con Saturday started off with some wandering of the aisles, I really tried for an up and down route to see it all, but then again I’m always distracted when something just catches my eye. Oooooh, SHINY!

There was a lot to do and see on Saturday but I couldn’t stay the whole night and there was some cool stuff I know I’d be missing, but in the end it was ok! I ended up finding one of those panels online, thanks to some cool partnerships Comic-Con is doing nowadays! WOOT!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERABut I digress…My guy Dave and I did sit in on a panel about VALIANT COMICS and learned what they are up to with a few of their creators and writers; Jody Hauser, Robert Venditti, Joshua Dysart, Darick Robertson, Warren Simmons and Dinesh Shamdasani. It was a cool panel indeed and it made me want to flash back to some old Valiant Issues and get caught up on their new stuff. I really need to get into Jody Hauser’s run on FAITH! As always I have a lot more comic book reading to do! Yup!

After the VALIANT panel it was time for the HONG KONG CAVALIER reunion! The room filled up to max capacity and I was seated in front of New Jersey!

The panel was for some of the gang from THE ADVENTURES OF BUCKAROO BANZAI ACROSS THE 8TH DIMENSION! The Band was back together after 30 years, since this awesome movie came out!  Oh and a new DVD is out from the ever awesome SHOUT! FACTORY. Yup. This whole panel was an absolute pleasure! BUCKAROO BANZAI is one of my all time favorite movies!

THE BAND BACK TOGETHER!!!

Moderated by Joe Parington he introduced Gerald Peterson (a.k.a. Rug Sucker and bandmate of Billy Vera), Damon Hines (a.k.a. Scooter Lindley), Billy Vera (a.k.a. Pinkie Carruthers) and last but certainly not least Pepe Serna (a.k.a. Reno).

The gang all shared stories of working on the movie and the fun time that was had. They talked about working with Peter Weller and making sense of the unusual script. The film has stood the test of time as they all say fans still ask them about their roles in Buckaroo! Billy gets a lot of gifts in pink boxes!

Kevin Smith wants to make a TV show based on BUCKAROO and word is he wants the original cast joining in. Pepe told us all to make it known we want the original cast back too!

Can you imagine a world where there would have been 5 sequels to BUCKAROO BANZAI? Billy said they were signed for 5 sequels when they got the movie. Everyone was really proud of the movie and it was great to see them all together, happy, riffing and excited about the time spent as Hong Kong Cavaliers.

“NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO, THERE YOU ARE!”

comic-con-logoCOMIC-CON!!!!!!!!! SAN DIEGO COMIC-CON!!!!! #SDCC2016 It has come and gone! Yup!

Yup, I was there for some of it and had a fun, fun, fun, fun, fun time. This year I only had a pass for two of the five days that San Diego becomes the Pop Culture mecca! Comic Books, Movies, Toys, Pop Culture goodness, baby! I’ve been going for many, many, many years, I’m in the double digits here folks. (Yes, I have to brag, it’s COMIC-CON!) And, yes I wish I could have been there for every single day BUT I had two awesome super duper filled day and My Guy Dave was with me too. My dad also was down there digging through back issue comic book bins and between us all we snagged some pretty neat things. Yup! And there’s more details to share! Because Sharing it Grrrrreat!

This is Me before we got in the car to Drive to San Diego! I'm excited!

This is Me before we got in the car to Drive to San Diego I’m excited! YUP YUP YUP!

We drove on down on Thursday to get settled in San Diego and I had more than a few friends already down at the Con so I was following along from afar. Thursday gave me, my folks and Dave a chance to hang out in San Diego; we all ate and enjoyed a delicious CALIFORNIA BURRITO. Then the evening was spent looking for Pokémon and grabbing a drink at a dive bar! WOOT!

IN THE WILD! Catch 'em All!

IN THE WILD! Catch ’em All!

FRIDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My Comic-Con day had arrived! With my badge in hand (before I got my lanyard) we got to downtown San Diego (thanks again mom for dropping us off!) and found the right door to get upstairs and get that lanyard! Pretty Easy peasy and no hassle having to wave your badge to check in and out! I got the WB bag for SUPERNATURAL! I LOVE SUPERNATURAL so thanks to my dad and My Guy Dave I now have 3 SUPERNATURAL BAGS! (Anyone want to trade for a TEEN TITANS GO! bag? Anyone?! email me!)

BADGED and Ready for Comic-Con! Yup! My dad! Me and Dave!

BADGED and Ready for Comic-Con! Yup!   My dad! Me and Dave!

So many people wandering around, waiting for doors to open to get to the fun that was in store for one and all. Excitement was in the air! I was happy! Yup!

I have passed on trying for HALL H panels. This year I was set on continuing my wandering ways through Comic-Con, looking at all there is to see and do some different stuff that I had not done before!  I’ve also taken to enjoying the off site goodies that are around town. So much Comic-Con fun! YEA!!!!

On the escalator! Up and Away!

On the escalator! Up and Away!

My dad was ready to hit the floor with his SUPERNATURAL bag in on his back and he went to the floor scouting out the comic book back issues. Dave wanted to check out the gaming room and since it was something I had not done at Comic-Con before I went too.Yup! NEW THINGS! Yea!

dandDplayWe checked out the Pathfinder room to play a D&D Adventures League campaign. We got to pick and name our characters and venture off for the “TREASURE OF THE BROKEN HOARD PART 1“. I was Miles a Human Fighter, Noble, he’s in it for the gold, glory and fame, kinda like BOOSTER GOLD (cheap pop! my hero!), while Dave was Dom also a Human Fighter, Folk Hero. Our DM, Vy, was super cool. She lead us and the rest of our party of a Wizard, Cleric, Rogue and I think Barbarian Dwarf into a cave in search of treasure. We fought Goblins, I tossed my Javelin and Dom almost died, yup he rolled for a Death Save! Oh there was a Giant! A shrunken Giant! And a hoard of shrunken goblins, 100’s of them!!

After the campaign we headed to the convention floor and immediately found HEX 11 booth. I discovered them at another con a while back and pick up their issues when I can. They had Issue #7 ready to go! It’s a fun indie comic I have to recommend! Yup!

With more wandering in mind, we went looking up and down the rows and soon were taking a stroll down artist’s alley! It’s really all about the wandering and browsing for me these days, as I love seeing what there is to see.Of course through the wandering we found cool cosplayers too! I adore seeing cosplayers showin’ off their duds! They are the characters, not just people in costumes! I try my best to keep my manners when asking for pictures and was able to jump in a few thanks to My Guy Dave!

GO TEAM VENTURE! Sorry Dr. Venture I was excited and you got covered!

CabinEDWhile we were off wandering we left the cool convention aisles and went out into the heat! (It was one hot hot weekend in San Diego!) Over the bridge and towards the parking lot by Petco Park we went because that’s where the ASH VS. EVIL DEAD cabin was set! STARZ is my hero for helping to give the world more  Raimi, Tapert, Campbell, ASH, Lawless, Deadites, Blood, Guts and Gore! The line wasn’t so bad and so Dave and I jumped in it! Well, honestly, no matter how long the line was we were going to jump in and wait, wait wait, because well, DUH, EVIL DEAD, baby! The grooviest of the groovy!

Though I didn’t catch all the panels I had on my agenda for my Friday I did get in a round of D&D, saw super cool stuff, snagged indie comics, got some books and met William Gibson, and got fake Facehugger tattoos, yup it was a freakin’ blast!

I have for the past many years seen the DC ANIMATED movies that have screened at the con and wanted to make sure I would see what was to play that night! So My Guy Dave and I headed upstairs to Ballroom 20 expecting a long line of waiting as we planned to arrive more than a few panels early, but lo and behold there was no line and into Ballroom 20 we went! WHEEEEE!!!!

PANEL TIME, BALLROOM 20!

PANEL TIME, inside BALLROOM 20!

The iZOMBIE panel was going on and so we listened in, yup. I have only watched an episode of the show and never kept up. Looks like a lot has happened since it started and it looks like it’s going to keep going.

iZombie Cast and Crew!

iZombie Cast and Crew!

Then there was the panel for SCREAM QUEENS which is a panel we were most interested in, so it worked out just nice! Yup. My Guy Dave and I watched ever episode of SCREAM QUEENS, and what kept me watching was really JAMIE LEE CURTIS. This show is absolutely ridiculous but in the end entertained me so, yup.

SCREAM QUEENS turned out to be a fun funny panel; learning of the new cast additions and tidbits about where they are going next, leaving behind the college campus for a mental hospital. So the cast hit the stage along with the creator and it was moderated by a writer for EW; Tim Stack.

Abigail Breslin was first, followed by Billie Lord, Keke Palmer, Lea Michele, a new addition to the cast Taylor Lautner, then Emma Roberts, and another newbie Mr. John Stamos (gosh what a smile!) and then the awesome and amazing Jamie Lee Curtis and lastly creator Ian Brennan.

What? John Stamos on SCREAM QUEENS?!

What? John Stamos on SCREAM QUEENS?!

JAMIE LEE CURTIS!!!

JAMIE LEE CURTIS!!! JAMIE LEE CURTIS!!!!!!!!!!

Ian, creator, shared how the show was set to address Mean Girl culture and be horror filled. Jamie talked about recreating her mom’s Psycho scene in season one, saying that her mom would have been a fan of the show. She’s also ready for some steamy hook ups in Season 2!

Jamie was hilarious the whole panel, I love her. She shared that when something is funny she laughs; back in the day when she did A FISH CALLED WANDA she said Kevin Kline would be mad because she’d blow his takes because she’d laugh. These days she has to hold something sharp in her hands to poke herself so she doesn’t laugh out-loud at the wrong time.

As the panel went the laughs continued; the next season sounds wacky with a whole new round of CRAZY. It is promised to be bloodier, funnier, and more gruesome!

SCREAM QUEENS are a Scream! Yup!

SCREAM QUEENS are a Scream! Yup!

The whole cast was fun to see live, Keke is one of my favorites and Abigail is so cute and grown up. They all seem to be in awe of John Stamos, as he has this glow and that charming smile. Billie talked about her earmuff’s and how her idea to braid over them was beautiful but painful idea. She was asked to get her mom on the show and Billie said to just ask her! Yup.

STAMOS shares his fun being on SCREAM QUEENS.

STAMOS shares his fun being on SCREAM QUEENS.

Now what else was interesting?…Chad will be back..cameos of celebs include Colton Haynes and Cecily Strong, the Q&A’s from the audience were good, and it was all ladies doing the asking!!!

So fans! We can all be excited for SCREAM QUEENS season 2 on September 20th! Yup.

Then we settled in and stayed in our seats at BALLROOM 20 because of the evening event, a movie screening from WB Animation and DC Comics!! Woot! (I go to these panels every year!!! WOOT!) Yup! THE KILLING JOKE exclusive premiere!!

Last year they announced this title was coming and now and here it was for all to see before it comes out on Video. But they also revealed that THE KILLING JOKE would have a two night screening event on Monday and Tuesday, July 25-26! Thanks Fathom Events!

So, the panel started at 9PM, but because THE KILLING JOKE is a rated R movie and they couldn’t screen it til almost 10PM. Based on the 1988 graphic novel, THE KILLING JOKE is one of the most popular stories in the BAT-Verse. Before the screening there was a Q&A and another would follow at the end of the movie (which I didn’t stick around for though I wish I had…).

The Rep from WB Home Video Gary Miereanu came on out to kick off the event! He gave shout outs to the DC peeps in the crowd and introduced all on the panel! Sam Liu (Director), Bruce Timm, Brian Azarello, Ray Wise, Tara Strong and Kevin Conroy! Oh and soon after we got a phone call from some “Joker” Mark Hamill. Mark said thanks for turning up, that THE KILLING JOKE was about to play in front of the “best movie audience the movie will ever have” and then the JOKER took over the phone for a bit and of course giggled. The crowd went crazy!!!! CRAZY!!!!! WOOOOOO!

TARA STRONG! BATGIRL! Barbra Gordon! WOOT!

TARA STRONG! BATGIRL! BARBRA GORDON! WOOT!

Kevin "Batman" Conroy! He is BATMAN!

Kevin “Batman” Conroy! He is BATMAN!

THE KILLING JOKE Team!

THE KILLING JOKE Team!

During the panel, Bruce Timm talked about giving Barbra Gordon more backstory, calling it a little mini movie for her, which Brian Azarello wrote. Tara Strong who’s voiced Batgirl/Barbra Gordon since 1996 was super excited to have the role and see her evolve. The team expressed how they wanted to add to the story, keeping it true and fresh. This was a story that they all wanted to be apart of for quite some time and it was finally here!

So just about 10PM the movie began to play! Now, I really enjoy these Animated movies and enjoy watching them in this setting. You can feel the anticipation in the room.

The additions to the story really is Barbara and she’s been BATGIRL for a few years, teaming up with BATMAN and feeling she can really handle the Superhero route her life has taken. She still admires BATMAN, but wants to be seen as more of an equal, and yet still strives for his approval.

The crux of the story though really is about JOKER, where we get deets on his origin. A bad day, a really bad day, the most horrible, awful, no good day made him who he is now. The JOKER wants to prove that someone else can be turned to evil after a bad, awful day and so he shoots Barbra Gordon, so she’ll never walk again in front of Commissioner Gordon, then kidnaps Gordon. Joker taunts and torments Gordon, showing off what happened to Barbra expecting him to go all villainous and revenge seeking.

BATMAN is also dealing with his JOKER relationship and how they balance each other as hero and villain.

It’s been a LONG LONG LONG time since I’ve read the graphic novel. I’m admittedly a bit biased when it comes to DC animated movies. I overall enjoyed this film and am glad they are moving towards edging them up. I think it is sometimes still hard for many to accept animated movies as for adults only. It’s about the stories, and getting those story told, reaching a new audience. I say check it out when it’s out! Yup!

WHOOOO! FRIDAY! My Comic Con day came and went!  (Ahhh over too fast!) But, there is more fun to share! And I’m going to share it! So here’s part one and stay tuned for part two which will include my Saturday journey and more and more pictures! Yeah! Comic-Con!!!!!!

FCBD16 15yrsFree Comic Book Day has come and gone! Wooosh! Like a daydream.

15 years of Free Comic Book Day and I don’t think I’ve ever missed one since it’s been going on! 15 years visiting my favorite comic book shops out in Los Angeles! (15 years since Spider-Man came to theaters!) Wow!!!!

I love Comic Books and this day is a fun one. Comic Books for all ages! For the past 5, maybe 6, years I’ve taken my nieces out along for the comic book ride and it is a special day for us all! Yup!

IMAG8201This year my nieces, Celia and Effie, and my Guy Dave were ready for FCBD 2016 and at 9:30 a.m. we hit the road! We didn’t start at Golden Apple as usual, but made our way to North Hollywood for Blastoff’s ComicsFest by the Federal Bar. There were comic book writers/artist signing books, some vendors selling comic themed goodies, the Laemmle NoHo7 gave out free popcorn, and popcorn coupons, there were food trucks with delicious ice cream and even a beer garden!  But there were Free Comic Books! We all got a random grab bag that had old random back issues and a mix of the free comics available that day! After having some Thai Tea ice cream as our appetizer and grabbing our comics we all took quick break to flip through our goodies! Then we drove on down to Blastoff Comics store just down a ways and grabbed a few more Free Comic Books! They had a 50% off trades sale going on and though we didn’t buy any we had fun browsing. There was a good crowd inside and there’s nothing like seeing a full comic book shop, it makes me happy!

NextIMAG8207 up on our Comic Book route was the newly opened shop The Perky Nerd, in Burbank! This fine new shop was ready to go on FCBD! Yup! Here they had some signings going on, Free Comics (OF COURSE!) and I finally got a chance to browse around a bit!

The Perky Nerd has new Comics, Toys, Original Artwork, Board Games (especially Star Wars X-WING) and COFFEE! They sell Cold Brew coffee at the shop and you can take a seat on their nice couch or table to read a book and sip your drink.

Isaac Sketching Booster Gold for ME!!! Wheeee!!!

Artist Isaac and I got to chatting, he drew a Spider-Man for my nephew (who wasn’t on the ride but couldn’t be forgotten about!) and in our chatting I mentioned my love of BOOSTER GOLD so Isaac was awesome and drew me a BOOSTER GOLD! Yes I will always admit my undying love and devotion of BOOSTER GOLD to anyone who will listen! Thanks again Isaac!

Booster Gold is my hero!!! Stay Golden Booster!

And with that we gathered our Comics and said bye bye to The Perky Nerd to venture off to the next shop on our list!

HOUSE OF SECRETS was busy! There were tons of cosplayers outside the shop posing for photos with kids and it was of course adorable and awesome! The shop was packed too and we all got to add another three Free Comics to our collections.

Then, last but never least we were on our way to one more store! GOLDEN APPLE!

IMAG8224

I’ve been going to Golden Apple FOREVER, it’s been my go to shop since I began buying weekly comics oh so many, many, many, many moons ago. I remember those first FREE COMIC BOOK DAYS at Golden Apple when they were still further down Melrose. So many people, comics and good times! Golden Apple has always puts together a big event for FREE COMIC BOOK DAY! They do not disappoint! Celia and Effie agree that we can’t ever miss out on visiting them! Yup!

So we were there later in the day and the line to get Free Comics wasn’t so bad, we didn’t wait long before we were snagging our books. I was actually able to find some that I didn’t see at the other shops! SCORE!

One of the fun things that GOLDEN APPLE does is having a prize raffle game and this year it was buying dum dum lollipops for a chance at more free comics or other big prizes. We went for the big 12 dum dums for $10 deal and the four of us got to pick 3 dum dums each. Celia and Dave were the big winners! They got a hello kitty eraser puzzle and the Funko Frozen Pocket Pop Set! SCORE!

UNDEROOS!

UNDEROOS!

Whew!! What a day of FREE COMIC BOOKS! It really was an excellent adventure! I had a fun filled day with my nieces and my guy Dave! We got comic books a plenty, ate lots of sugary treats and had a super, duper, golden, perky, happy, fun filled blastoff blast!!! I can’t wait for another FREE COMIC BOOK DAY but have plenty to read until then. 😉

Remember: COMIC BOOKS KICK ASS! Yup!

comic-con-logoLast year I never got around to sharing my Comic-Con adventure of 2014! I’m a slacker, that’s really why. Who doesn’t get distracted by procrastination?!

I really did have such a great time at Comic-Con this year and it helped recharge my batteries, reminding me why I love going to Comic Con and reveling in my geekdom. It was a happy time indeed. It’s one of my happy places, one of my favorite times of year, usually one of my few moments of vacation time, even though it’s a busy on the go vacation!

Comic-Con has changed so much and everyone seems to bring it up more each year, and sure I agree, but for me, this year was just about enjoying it all. With a smile on my face I sought out the things I wanted, staying out of Hall H, wandering up and down the aisles, adding to my back issues comic book collection and checking out artists and things. All the while staying real close to the ASH VS. EVIL DEAD booth, because I am such an EVIL DEAD, Raimi, Capmbell fangirl, yup!

This year I wIMAG5722as lucky to be at preview night once again, and my dad was with me yet again too! We are both nerds who love Comic-Con. At preview night getting our badges was painless and quick, after walking a long way and all around to get inside to the show floor we basked in the Comic-Con moment. We wandered, staking out what we might get from Mattel and wandered some more.

I tried to get a Groot headband at Marvel and failed. 🙁

It was that night I found where the ASH VS. EVIL DEAD booth was located and saw how it was set up. Circling around we kept missing the line cut off to get a foam chainsaw and check out the Ash trailer. So, I then made it my plan to go first thing on Thursday. Yup.

My dad and just I wandered the aisles somewhat systematically and did find some comics.

Aww, the Feel the Feels! Inside Out.

Aww, the Feel the Feels! Inside Out.

I did tumblr some of my favorite pictures each night here’s my Wednesday Preview Night!

Then TIMAG5877hursday was the first full Comic-Con day and yes, I got into the ASH VS. EVIL DEAD booth and so did my dad (though we got separated by the masses) and in the end I got my chainsaw and my dad got a T-Shirt but I did not get a chance to get the cast autograph; le sigh. (It was worth the try!)

So with that mission complete it was back to just wandering here and there and everywhere. I really do enjoy just ambling about, looking at art, and taking pictures. I like seeing all the other people enjoying themselves too, sharing in the fandom. It gets crowded, people get fussy, but on a whole I say most are happy and happy to be there. I know I was, yup.

IMAG5958I caught some panels on Thursday! It started with WWE NXT wrestlers and Mattel toys! It really made me miss watching wrestling as the room was packed with cheering fans. A kid in a spidey costume in front of me was up on his chair so excited! After a quick look at a new line of toys the wrestlers all took some time to talk about being on NXT and how much they love it.

After NXT I moved a bit closer to the stage and found a seat to geek out on movies from 1985. I’ve been going to this panel for the past few years and really enjoy listening to movie talk. It’s these movies of ages ago that helped shape my nerdom for sure. With the likes of Robert Meyer Burnett, Mark Altman, Ashley E. Miller and more it was a walk down memory lane. Ah, 1985 the year of Back to the Future, Commando, Rambo: First Blood Part II, Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome. The talk went on tangents of the awesomeness of Grace Jones, Lifeforce, To Live and Die in L.A., Gymkata, and more! I LOVE MOVIES!

Cool Chick! Shana! We both like 1985 films!

I have more pictures from Thursday here at my Thursday Comic Con Tumblr! Yup! Enjoy and keep on reading! I’m not done yet!

Friday it was back to the floor and time for some panels, the one panel I’d been most excited for! I got my Mattel, Thomas and the Train toys, one for me and my nephew! It was the cutest little toy set and the exciting part  was getting some of the last sets they were selling for the day!

After that line time, I made my way up to get in line to get into the panel room I needed to be in! So I sat through the panel of MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE which included the daughter of Philip K. Dick. The show sounds cool, with a cool cast, but I’ll probably not be watching soon as it’s out.

The next panel was for the series VIKINGS and it was packed with Vikings of all sorts! I haven’t watched much of the show but sitting there I think I might have to get all caught up! Thanks to being there I did get to score a drinking horn, now I can drink like a Viking, yup!

IMAG6108After each panel I moved my way closer and closer to the stage to get a good seat to see what I wanted to see!

J. Michael Straczynski was next to talk about SENSE 8. It wasn’t an official panel sponsored by Netflix, but J. wanted to come out to answer questions and have the first gathering of SENSE 8 fans. He shared about the history of the show and creating it with the Wachowskis’.

I was really glad to catch this one. I marathoned the whole series and loved every moment of it. The Q&A was good too and proved just how much the show really connected with so many people. At the time they were waiting on hearing if the show would be renewed for season 2 and were hopeful, I want more SENSE 8! Yup! Let’s hope it still can happen!

Ready for EVIL DEAD!!!!

Ready for EVIL DEAD!!!!

Next up was what I had been waiting for, the panel for ASH VS. THE EVIL DEAD with Bruce Campbell, Sam Raimi, Ivan Raimi and Lucy Lawless!!

IMAG6150The panel begun with the trailer for the new series coming to Starz on Halloween. It was everything an Evil Dead fan like me could hope for! Bruce, Ash, Deadites, Blood and some laughs. The panel was a blast.

Bruce Campbell gave out some bills, Sam and Ivan made jabs at Bruce and Lucy joins right along. I’ll never get enough of watching Bruce Campbell on a stage, talk to a crowd and rile up the masses.

I really loved seeing Sam and Ivan, my DARKMAN creator heroes! Yup! It makes up for not making into panels of Comic-Con past when I didn’t get to see Raimi the last time he was there! But I was there that day and had an ear to ear grin on my face.

The crowd ate it all up too with fun questions and an impromptu costume contest of those dressed as Ash. Bruce had them come up to the stage and awarded the crowd (and Bruce’s) favorite Ash look a like. HILARIOUS!

AH, What a good Comic-Con Friday it was!!! I ended the evening after the panel wandering a bit more and then I watched the latest animated DC movie JUSTICE LEAGUE: GODS AND MONSTERS, which I really dug! Before the film started (I watched the second screening) so and I caught some of the Q&A before. The big news was Bruce Timm saying an animated feature of THE KILLING JOKE will be coming soon! Woot! Now here’s My Friday Tumblr Pics!

IMAG6289When Saturday came around my dad and I hit the show floor and found more comic books! It was also a day I wandered around more off site around Gaslamp District. And, I got some fun cosplay photos!

I hung out at the Conival at the Stadium. This was the place where Nerdist had more panels and things and I got to see more Bruce Campbell and Lucy Lawless rile folks up for Evil Dead! I will never ever get enough! Yup!

I also went to the panel for MAX BROOKS who just took time to talk to fans and answer questions. He’s a good story teller and holds the crowd. People love his take on Zombies, I do too. I had heard a few of his stories already from panels of the past but like I said he tells stories and is fun to listen to, yup!

Everyone shares their fandom and you can tell he writes about what he likes and is most passionate about. We are all just a bunch of nerds! It’s a good thing.

Then the evening ended as I joined some friends to watch the Masquerade, Costume Contest from under the sails. We had a blast!

GHOSTBUSTERS!

And of course more is at my Saturday Tumblr! So much fun!

Ah, and then IMAG5924things have to come to an end, we reach the final day of Comic-Con! Comic Con Sunday! I absolutely had a lot of fun, yup.

The bonus was that my guy Dave came on down to wander around with me! We had a full fun day of walking the aisles, up and down and back and forth. We found the HEX 11 booth! We had snagged their first issue at the Long Beach con and finally got our hands on the latest issues.

My dad was off wandering his way around and got the last few back issues too adding to our haul of 90 comics in all! Now we just have to file them all away.

We stayed at the con grabbing a last few bits of swag and made the long drive home. Of course as soon as we landed at home I had to go through my stash and make piles of things! SUNDAY COMIC CON!!

LOOK AT THAT!
